Prepping the trail for tomorrow night when the boys Joe Palisi & Thomas attempt a winter Mahoosuc.

The 3 of us ascended Notch Trail before quickly reaching the coveted notch. The two of them were to head north to Grafton Notch, while the one man circus (me) headed south to Carlo Col. Every step was a gratifying one knowing each of my imprinted snowshoe tracks would help ease their soon to be pain. 

My one stipulation going into this was i wanted to out-and-back the notch with them. One look at the beast and I wanted no smoke. It looked treacherous. Don’t quote me, but I received a text and I believe it took them 2.5 hours to go the mile. Yeesh. Well done boys and god speed 

I ate half that 2lb 3oz pecan pie while sitting here typing this. You know, when you keep drawing that imaginary even “stop” line with your fork, but you never really stop.. fine, i had more than half
