Today is more about the destination than the journey 😅 Biking was (mostly) in the back roads deep in the rather prosaic farm country; if I blinked sometimes the landscape could be mistaken for ... the Midwest? The destination, Matsushima, is fabulous though. The golden rooms of Zuiganji were impressive, and the bay of Matsushima dotted with pine tree covered islands is well worth its reputation of one of the "3 best views of Japan".

Random sights on the road: cream puff vending machine (!); beautiful flower filled purification station in a shrine; abandoned casino (?).
