My 3rd consecutive New York City Marathon run on Sunday 5 November 2023 was the most enjoyable out of 3 NYCM since 2021.
I was apprehensive about how I will manage my breathing 😮‍💨 running NYCM nursing a chest cold. 
Race morning weather was God sent, dry (<50% humidity), 9-18•C with little wind. 
I started off gingerly soaking up the atmosphere, carefully monitoring my breathing to ensure I am not straining my chest at effort. As thousands of runners ran past me by the time I crossed Verrazano Narrows 🌁, my focus was to run a comfortable pace to finish without sustaining further ill effects. I took my time to drink full cups of water at every water aid station to ensure my lungs 🫁 are well hydrated to minimise discomfort and to aid clearing my chest and sinuses from time to time.
Took a few videos running through the block parties 🎉 🎊 of Brooklyn, engaged with the cheering 📣 crowd to uplift my spirits and to show my appreciation to the partisan crowd.
I was pleasantly surprised to reach Half way at 1:35 and happy to continue running without the pressure of racing.
The 2nd half was pleasant, fun and a joy to run the bridges, First Avenue uphill towards The Bronx, the undulating final miles. I soaked up the atmosphere, danced on a few occasions to entertain the crowd and myself, willed on and encouraged runners who were reduced to walking in the final miles along Museum Mile and Central Park 🌲 🍂 🌳 🍁 

Thankful for finishing my run with my health intact, with a grateful heart. The Finisher’s medal 🏅 is a gem 💎 Happy to see many friends finishing with joy, including Jolita 🇱🇹 and Florin 🇷🇴 rewarded with their AWMM 6 🌟 medal, and Tom creating history as the world’s first deaf born to complete an Abbott Slam.
