A classic hike to a famous viewpoint
The Sonoma Overlook Trail is a lovely little hike offering fantastic views of Sonoma Valley and the surrounding countryside. The trail is around 3 miles (round trip) and you'll need a couple of hours to do it.
The trail begins near the Sonoma Cemetery and climbs gently through woodlands and grassy hillsides. On the way, you'll encounter various flora, including wildflowers during the springtime. The path is well-maintained and signed, so navigation is easy.
As you get higher, the views improve yet further, and you'll be able to see the Sonoma Valley (including its many vineyards) and the town itself. When you reach the overlook, grab a seat on the grass soak it all in, and relax! Written by Charlie Boscoe
