Spectacular and Challenging!

I’m so so happy to be in the alps, it’s pure magic every single step and today was somehow more beautiful than yesterday. 

We had a loooong climb to start the day(I have a feeling this will be the same everyday) which led to a beautiful pass and just insane views. We opted to take an alternate route which led us to another high pass and decided to take a couple of little side trips before we descended down into the valley below.

First we climbed up to Tete Nord des Fours at 2,756m asl. Well worth the climb(as always) and we had views up to Mont Blanc and all the other high peaks, so epic. Then we ducked off to an unnamed lake where we had our swim of the day. Cold and refreshing. And one of the best views from a swim spot I’ve ever had. 

A long descent to a refuge in the valley was followed by an even longer climb up to a high pass called Col de la Seigne, which marks the border between France and Italy(my first time in Italy). Some bad weather came in so the rain gear came out and we descended the pass and eventually setup camp. What an epic day.
