Happy with the effort—absolutely perfect conditions.

Swim: took me about 300 yards to settle in.. water was great.. felt like I could have swam the loop again.. wet suit was a little tight.

Bike: super happy with the time. Per usual, I pass everyone on the climbs and get passed on the descent. Not sure why because other people didn’t have tri bikes and were passing me. Stoped to pee once, had to go so bad. Kept up on gels and fluids really well. Ate probably 5 gels and three bottles.

Run: again, happy with the effort. Didn’t stop once, kept a 7:30ish pace. Gulped down three gels, was over them at this point.

I felt like this was a 95% effort and there were people my age at least 40 minutes ahead of me. I guess I could have saved ~5 minutes with a tri suit (instead of changing), maybe 15 minutes with a good aero bike (?).. and run faster? Haha the rolling swim start put me about ~10ish minutes from the true “start”
